These are the terms for our subscription website service. They are written plainly on purpose — you should be able to read them before signing rather than after something goes wrong.
Who these apply to
These terms are between you and BLOXSO.ME LTD (company number 17236668, registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX), referred to below as "we" or "us".
They apply where you buy our subscription website service as a business. They do not apply to bespoke software or contract engineering work, which is covered by a separate agreement.
What we provide
Depending on the plan you choose:
- Website — a website of up to five pages, designed and built for your business, hosted by us with a security certificate, uptime monitoring, and up to thirty minutes of content changes each month.
- Website + Google — everything above, plus setting up and optimising your Google Business Profile, local search work for your area, a review request system, a monthly report, and up to two hours of content changes each month.
We do not provide social media management. Anything beyond the plan — extra pages, copywriting, online booking, e-commerce — is quoted separately before we do it.
Term and cancellation
There is no upfront build fee. In exchange, plans run for a minimum of twelve months from the date your site goes live. After that they continue monthly and you can cancel with thirty days' notice.
The minimum term exists because we build the site before you pay anything and recover that cost over the year. If you cancel within the first twelve months, the remaining monthly payments for that term fall due.
When your subscription ends, your website is taken offline. We built and hosted it, so it does not transfer to you. We are stating that plainly here rather than leaving you to discover it — if you want a site you keep permanently, ask us for a one-off build quote instead.
We can end an agreement with thirty days' notice, or immediately if payment is more than thirty days overdue or the site is used unlawfully.
Payment
Fees are the monthly amount shown on our pricing page at the time you sign up, payable monthly in advance by Direct Debit.
Prices are exclusive of VAT. BLOXSO.ME LTD is registered for VAT, so VAT is charged at the prevailing rate and shown separately on your invoice. If your business is VAT registered you can normally reclaim it; if it is not, VAT is a real additional cost and you should budget for it.
We will give at least sixty days' notice of any price change, and never during your first twelve months.
If a payment fails we will tell you and try again. If it remains unpaid after thirty days we may suspend the site until it is settled.
Your domain
Your domain name is registered in your name and belongs to you. If you leave, it goes with you and we will help transfer it at no charge.
We think holding a local business's domain hostage is indefensible, so we have made it structurally impossible rather than simply promising not to.
Where you already own a domain, you keep it and we point it at the site. Registration and renewal for domains we buy on your behalf are included in your plan.
Who owns what
- You own your domain, your logo, your text and your images — everything you gave us, and the content we wrote specifically for you.
- We own the website build itself: the templates, code and design system it runs on. You have a licence to use it for as long as you subscribe.
- Your Google Business Profile is yours. We manage it with your permission and hand back full control whenever you ask.
We may show your website as an example of our work unless you ask us not to. Just tell us and we will take it down.
Changes and support
Content changes are included up to the monthly allowance for your plan. Send them by email; we action them in a weekly batch, usually within five working days.
Unused time does not roll over. Work beyond the allowance is quoted before we start it — we will never do extra work and then invoice you for it.
If something on your site is broken, that is not a "change" and we fix it as a priority at no cost.
Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Give us accurate information about your business
- Only give us content you have the right to use — text, photographs and logos you own or are licensed to use
- Not use the site for anything unlawful or misleading
- Tell us promptly when details change, so your site does not go stale
If a third party claims that content you supplied infringes their rights, you are responsible for that claim.
Availability
We host on Cloudflare's network and aim for continuous availability, but we do not guarantee an uptime percentage and do not offer service credits at this price point. We monitor uptime and fix outages as a priority.
We cannot control how your site ranks in Google. We do the work properly — profile optimisation, local search, technical fundamentals — but nobody can promise a position in search results, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does.
Liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Otherwise, our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. We are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost data or indirect losses.
This is a business-to-business agreement, so the consumer rights that would apply to an individual do not apply here.
General
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will give thirty days' notice, and you may cancel without penalty if you do not accept it.
How we handle personal data is covered by our privacy policy.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
